Group Tour Request Form

Our summer group tour request form is currently available. Our fall group tour registration will open towards the end of August.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions provides 90-minute guided campus walking tours for groups of no less than 10 and no more than 65 attendees (1 Chaperone per-10 students). We will not be able to accommodate groups larger than 65. We are unable to provide an info session with Group Tours.

Throughout the summer, our group tours occur every Tuesday & Thursday at 10 am and 12 pm ET, with the exception of any observed university holidays and weekends. Please note that group tours are organized with prospective college students in mind and are not intended for general school field trip purposes.

Our group tours are primarily geared towards:

High school student groups (10th grade - 12th grade)
Prospective transfer students
Non-profit organizations that serve high school and prospective transfer students (CBO's, Counselor Groups, etc.)

Please note submission of this form does not guarantee you a group tour. Our office will follow up with further details about your request within 5 business days of your initial request date. Requests are process on a first-come, first-serve basis.

As a reminder, our group tours occur every Tuesday & Thursday at 10 am and 12 pm ET, however, certain special requests are accommodated upon request. The date indicated below is only a request. How will you be arriving on campus?

Parking is available in the garage attached to our visitor center at a discount rate of $5 for 4 hours of parking. This only applies to guests whose vehicles meet the clearance criteria, generally 10 feet.

f you will arrive by bus, you will be asked to park at the WeWork Parking lot. If you will be arriving by car or van, please park in The Hotel Parking garage, which will be discounted for you for a special rate of $5 for 4 hours (All cargo vans must park on the 1st floor). We encourage you to create a Metropolis parking account prior to arriving to campus. Your discounted rate will be applied at check-in. The discounted rate will be applied at Undergraduate Admissions Visitor Center front desk during Check-in and operational hours 8:30 pm - 4:00 pm Monday-Fridday.

Please be as specific as possible. Mobility and ADA requests must be submitted at least no later than 10 days before the visit.

In order to facilitate a pleasant experience for both your group and our office, during your visit, we ask that a few simple guidelines are followed by you and your students:

Please be considerate to the admissions representatives and tour guides
Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water for the campus walking tour
- This is a walking tour that takes place outdoors - rain or shine.
- Our office does, however, have the ability at any time to shorten or cancel a given tour due to extreme weather, including heat, storms, air quality, etc.
Phones are not permitted in presentation room or on tour to assist with student engagement
Visiting students are expected to conduct themselves as respectful visitors to the campus and not demonstrate disruptive behavior during any aspect of their campus visit.
- Should such behavior occur, the UMD events and visit staff and/or tour guides have the right to terminate the campus visit.
Visits running more than 15 minutes late may be cancelled depending on student tour guide scheduling
